Over 30 Years of River-Tested Craftsmanship
Downstream Boatworks was born directly out of a passion for navigating the scenic water systems of the American West. With over three decades of hands-on guiding, rowing, and technical boat repair experience, every custom wooden drift boat, skiff, and heavy-duty oar setup we design is engineered from raw necessity. We select premium, straight-grained lumber species like Douglas Fir, Ash, Cherry, and Walnut, combining traditional woodworking skills with state-of-the-art carbon fiber technology to construct gear that responds flawlessly under heavy water pressure.

From our custom watercraft workshop based out of Missoula, Montana, we proudly supply dedicated guides and recreational rowers throughout Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming. Whether you need custom hardware built to handle grueling washboard shuttle roads or ultra-responsive oars to track silent holding water, our mission is to ensure your setup is built for a lifetime of memories on the river.
